Ambassador
Aleyce Simmonds
TFSS is excited to announce that Aleyce Simmonds has agreed to be an ambassador for our organisation. Aleyce will be assisting TFSS in our awareness and fundraising campaigns as well as working on program ideas linked to her speciality.
Country Music artist and the 2018 Golden Guitar Winner for Female Artist of the Year 2017, APRA Award Winner for Country Work Of The Year 2017, Australian Independent Female Vocalist of The Year and 2017 Australian Independent Artist Of The Year, Aleyce Simmonds provides a public profile through her music and is based back in Tamworth allowing her to be apart of numerous activities.
Having spent the past eleven years in the industry, travelling the world creating and recording music, Aleyce has grown to realise what she loves about the world, music and in particular, the keeper of her heart - Country Music. ‘It evokes more emotion than anything else.. in my opinion. They say that a picture paints a thousand words.. well, for me, a great country song sings a million words and emotions. And, all in a heartbeat”.
Throughout her career so far, Aleyce has drawn comparisons with artists as diverse as Linda Ronstadt, Shania Twain and, most commonly, Emmy-Lou Harris. With full band, Aleyce’s crowd-pleasing live show blurs the boundaries between contemporary country, old-school country and classic rock. In solo mode, Aleyce, her guitar and her phenomenal vocal prowess are a mesmerizing combination.
Aleyce lives for, and on, the road. She is a regular on the festival circuit and constantly tours major towns and remote locations, both solo and with her band. In September 2014 Aleyce toured the UK, headlining the YeeHaw UK Festival and performing London and regional sideshows. A month later she was on the road in Europe again, as part of the Upside Down tour with Jack Henderson and Sam York.
Aleyce's third studio album, released at the Tamworth Country Music Festival on the 20th January debuted at #1 on the Australian Independent Record Labels Association chart beating out Sia and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds.
